When Foot & Mouth Disease began threatening livestock across Laos and Myanmar, WOAH knew that traditional communication wouldn't cut it. They didn’t want to overwhelm local communities with dense data or bureaucratic jargon—they needed something that could cut through the noise fast. That’s where we came in. We created a bold, art-driven campaign packed with custom illustrations that transformed complex biosecurity guidelines into simple, visual “aha” moments. From vibrant posters and informative leaflets to bite-sized social content, every asset was designed to be instantly understood—and impossible to ignore.
The campaign launched on the ground during the most critical risk periods, ensuring communities were armed with knowledge exactly when it mattered most. Its success didn’t stop there—WOAH amplified the visuals globally, proving that a well-crafted design can travel across cultures and borders with ease. Our creative approach not only captured attention, it embedded safety practices into memory and redefined what effective prevention communication looks like—no yawns, just impact.
The challenges
Educate remote farmers, vets, and traders on agruesome disease with varying literacy levels and cultural sensitivities—allwhile ensuring urgent action without inciting panic. The ask? Make it stick andspread it further than any bland brochure ever could.
The Solutions
We scrapped scientific jargon for bespoke, narrative driven illustrations. Each poster, leaflet, and social snippet spoke directly to rural audiences, embedding biosecurity must dos in memorable visuals—ready to adapt globally and save livestock one image at a time
